Hey guys, I've been missing in action, well actually not.

I have problems uploading and making posts on Blogger for the past week or so, but, I have been taking my photo's.

I assumed it was Blogger, but now I'm starting to think it is my PC at home. I will bring my pix in to the office tomorrow and upload!

A work friend of mine needed a head and shoulder pic for some or other reason, so she asked me to take a few snaps of her, I were extremely distracted with my baby laying right next to me the entire day, just wanted to play with it. Here is one of the snappy's I took of her.

Tonight the school bid the Matric's 2007 farewell, this was not their formal dance, but just a function to wish them luck with the finals and the road ahead.

Finishing off a project I started ages ago ...... I loved doing it, it was so different from the usual pink/blue orders. But, I've decided, this will be the last. I've got such limited time on my hands, it is unfair to clients. Unfortunately my broken elbow has set me back on this one as well, but I'll be sending it off towards the end of the week. Thank you H for being so patient.

I've been working tonight, whilst G was doing all my compulsory on line courses that has to be finished by Friday *blush*

Allow me a little rant about my lenses

Taken in the worst possible conditions, at 11am in full sun. This one was taken with my 85mm f1.8 prime - an absolute awesome lens. By far my favourite.

These were taken with my 50mm 1.8 prime lens. One of my oldest and definitely cheapest lenses. I were quite irritated in the afternoon wen I realised that I left my camera with my 85mm at home, so I ended up using the 50mm with the 400D. Looking at the DOF and the sharpness of this pix, I truly believe that everyone interested in portraiture should own one of these cheapies. These were taken at ISO 100, f/2.2.

Pork Shank and Butter Bean Curry

I've got this idea - seeing that cooking is also one of my passions - I think I will take a pic of one of our meals once a week, and add the recipe.

Here goes -

1 kg Pork Shank (can be replaced with lamb, beef or chicken)
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons mix masala
2 teaspoons garam masala
1 teaspoon turmeric
2 teaspoons chili powder (be careful - very hot - I use 2.5ml's)
2 teaspoons fresh ginger/garlic
1 teaspoon whole spices (fennel seeds and a couple of cinnamon sticks)
1 onion (sliced)
1 tin of tomatoes
2 tins of butter beans in brine
Oil for frying

Method:

Heat oil in a pot, add all the spices to oil, then add onions and fry until golden brown.

Add meat, tinned tomatoes and half a cup of water. Simmer until meat is soft, checking and topping up the fluid as necessary.

When meat is soft, drain the beans, add to the meat and cook slowly for about 10 minutes. Stir carefully as you don't want the beans to break.

Beans can be replaced by 4 medium potatoes - cooked until potatoes are soft.

Serve with rece/roti pickles and/or papadums. Enjoy!

I had a bad fall at work yesterday, resulting in a fractured elbow. The pain was worse than giving birth with induction and no pain killers. Promise. I cried like a baby.

Only got home from ER after eight last night, not being able to even lift my arm, never mind holding a camera!

Should be up and snapping again today.

Well, yesterday I decided I need a days leave ...... just to do what I want to do. The day started off with a bang ..... I got a phone call from the office before 7am to inform me that the staff member that I arranged with to see to my meetings today didn't pitch for work. I'm stressed and furious about it. It has already spoiled my day.

To get back to what I set out to do today, here is a couple of pictures taken with my new 'glass'. Playing with aperture. Note my model - the live ones goes into hiding when I appear with the camera.
